If you experience dental fears or feel anxiety leading up to your dental appointments, you are not alone. Dental anxiety is actually quite common. Some people remember a negative experience in the past while others have no explanation for the way they feel. Either way. we can help.
Our team is specially trained to take care of you. We can tailor your dental care to be just right for you. We have many options that can make dental appointments much easier than they used to be, including sedation options, new numbing techniques, and more. If you want to come in just to talk for the first visit, we can always do that, too.
We encourage our patients to let us know if they experience anxiety at the dentist. This way, we can tailor your treatment and make the experience right for you. While it can be tempting to skip dental appointments, especially if you have not had any problems, doing so can allow more serious dental conditions to develop and create dental emergencies. If you maintain regular dental appointments, we can focus on keeping you healthy and comfortable.

Of course, our commitment to high quality and excellence will ensure your dental health is in great hands. Dr. Karlyn Taylor is experienced and truly cares about you and your smile!
Bleeding gums are often a sign of inflammation or possible gum disease. Even if you have always been healthy, your oral health can change over time. Pregnancy, age, dexterity, medication, and underlying medical conditions can all have an effect on your oral health. You may even be surprised to know that things like an unhealthy diet or chronic stress can negatively impact your periodontal health.
If we catch gum disease early, we can often reverse it with proper care at home and professional dental cleanings. Contacting our Denver dental office at the first sign of a change in your oral health helps us treat it quickly, often saving you time, money, and discomfort.

Crowns and Bridges
Fillings and crowns serve two different purposes.
Composite (tooth-colored) fillings are a great solution to treat small to moderately sized decay. How long your new filling will last depends on how well you take care of it.
If you break your tooth, have deep decay, or have worn your tooth down to the dentin from clenching and grinding your teeth, a crown makes your tooth more stable, keeps it from splitting, and absorbs a lot more force than a filling is capable of.
If you are looking for a Denver dentist who will diagnose your condition and give you treatment options that make sense, contact Central Park Dental today. Dr. Karlyn Taylor will be happy to make a recommendation that will protect your health and your smile.
Dental Implants
Let’s face it, dental implants have been in the news a lot lately. You may be wondering what all the hype is about.
The reason everyone is talking about replacing teeth with dental implants is because of how convenient and long lasting they are. As far as tooth-replacement options go, dental implants offer greater stability and do not come with the dietary restrictions that are common with other types of tooth replacement therapy.
Most dentists would agree that dental implants are the best solution for missing teeth because of their success, longevity, stability, and the freedom they provide.
Some patients who have bone disorders or who take certain medications may not be the best candidates for dental implants. Other patients may simply want another option. At Central Park Dental, we also offer fixed dental bridges, partial dentures, and complete dentures.
If you are looking for an experienced dentist in the Central Park (formerly Stapleton) Denver area, Dr. Karlyn Taylor is welcoming new patients. Whether you currently have a missing tooth or you are facing a tooth extraction, you probably have a lot of questions. We are here to help you make a decision that gives you confidence in your health and appearance.
Extractions
In modern dentistry, we realize the crucial role that your teeth play. Aside from the function they provide – comfortable chewing, clear speech – the presence of a tooth also stimulates healthy bone growth in your jaw.
But despite our best attempts to save tooth structure, a time may come when we have exhausted all available treatment options, and removing the tooth is the only healthy solution. Some of the situations that lead to tooth extraction are:
- Severe decay or periodontal disease
- Trauma
- Overcrowding
- A failed root canal
- Problematic wisdom teeth
- Impacted wisdom teeth
The only way to know if you need an extraction is through an exam with Dr. Taylor. She will evaluate your situation and explore every option to save the tooth. If the tooth is beyond saving and threatens your oral health, Dr. Taylor will discuss extraction and why it’s necessary.
Our team understands that no one wants to hear they need to have a tooth removed. But we assure you that we will be with you every step of the way to support you. After extraction, Dr. Taylor will be happy to discuss tooth replacements like a bridge, dental implant, or dentures.
At Central Park Dental, we perform comfortable dental extractions in Central Park (formerly Stapleton) for our patients every day. Please call us so we can help you!
General Dentistry
Yes! We want all patients to have access to quality dental care. For this reason, we offer financing for all dental treatments through CareCredit. To learn more about our financing options please visit our financial page.
Preventive Dentistry
We recommend a minimum of every six months to allow us to detect and treat any problems before they turn into something bigger. This time period generally works well for those people who have good oral health overall and good home care habits.
Some people benefit from dental cleanings more frequently. This is common for patients who suffer from periodontal (gum) disease. Gum disease is a chronic condition that requires frequent dental care to keep it under control. More regular cleanings, usually every 3 to 4 months, can actually help prevent the damage to your bone and soft tissue caused by gum disease and can also protect your systemic health.
Gum disease has been linked to other conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and even premature birth. Many researchers believe this is due to the inflammatory nature of gum disease.
At Central Park Dental, we never treat two patients the exact same way. We always make recommendations based on your needs and refine these as they change over time.
